Trina Solar, a global leader in smart solar products and solutions, presented its expertise in 210R N-type TOPCon Advanced technology panels at the PV ModuleTech USA Conference this week. The company highlighted its plans for U.S. manufacturing of utility-scale, C&I, and residential modules, as well as its full solar solution with tracker and storage products for conference attendees.

“It was a pleasure engaging with fellow U.S. and global industry leaders at the PV ModuleTech conference,” said Trina Solar director of engineering Billy Christie, as he reflected on his presentation to the gathered audience of representatives and stakeholders from over 110 solar developers, technologists, financiers, and academics. “In addition to Trina’s TOPCon module technology, it’s important to discuss the characteristics of successful partnerships and qualities to look for in a solar supplier. Bankability and environmental scenarios, including hail durability, are top of mind for many customers right now.”

For Trina Solar, the conference was an opportunity to unveil details about its U.S. manufacturing facility, scheduled for completion by the end of 2024. Trina’s new state-of-the-art 5GW photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing facility in Wilmer, Texas, will create 1,500 local jobs in the Dallas-Fort-Worth (DFW) metroplex. On top of that, the facility’s annual module output capacity will be equivalent to powering 500,000 homes with renewable solar energy.

Trina has long been a leader in the technological advancement of the industry as a whole and has received extensive technical and brand recognition from renowned independent institutes worldwide, including: 100% in BNEF Bankability Survey for 7 years in a row; “Overall Highest Achiever” by RETC for 4 consecutive years; AAA ranking for 5 years in a row in the PVTech Bankability Ratings report; and “Top Performer” for all 9 years of PVEL’s Top Performer Scorecard.

Trina Solar provided attendees with N-type product development and optimization that combines industry-leading efficiency with lower degradation rates and longer-lasting warranty coverage. The company’s U.S. division also pointed toward domestic manufacturing and technology developments as indicators of supply stability in the long term.

“Once again, PV ModuleTech provided a content-rich lineup of knowledgeable speakers and relevant topics,” added Christie.
