Trinasolar has been honored with an International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) for its Vertex S+ Series n-type dual-glass rooftop PV modules, which have also previously won the Red Dot Award. The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) bestowed the award in the commercial and industrial products category. This accolade underscores Trinasolar’s dedication to pioneering aesthetic design and excellent products in the renewable energy sector.
The IDEA program, organized by the IDSA, is widely recognized as one of the world’s most prestigious industrial design awards, and it honors the world’s most innovative and impactful designs, assessed in five areas: appropriate aesthetics; design innovation; user benefits; brand advantage; and societal benefits. The award recognizes Vertex S+ for its aesthetic appeal, functionality, social responsibility, and commercial viability.
Trinasolar’s Vertex S+ series presents a new aesthetic experience to a high standard in every detail. Compared with traditional modules with blue cells and silver frames, the Vertex S+ Series adopts black as the dominant color to perfectly match many rooftop styles with high consistency and integrity. By incorporating transparent laminates for better light transmittance, the module easily adapts to special settings such as carports, awnings, and sunrooms. The manufacturing process for Vertex S+ strictly controls the chroma uniformity of black between all cells, between the cells and frames, and between modules, ensuring a highly unified and integrated aesthetic appearance in hue, lightness, and evenness, making it particularly suitable in high-end residential settings.
The Vertex S+ Series, based on the 210mm rectangular silicon wafer cell technology, features n-type TOPCon advanced technology. Its triple-cut cells have been designed for a more flexible layout, maximizing module power output in an area of less than 2m2 to deliver up to 455W of power output, improve full-lifecycle power generation capacity, and maximize customer value.
The module’s lightweight 1.6+1.6mm dual-glass design, with a weight comparable to backsheet modules, ensures easy handling and installation. The dual-glass structure withstands mechanical loads of up to 5,400 Pa positive load and 2,400 Pa negative load, making it resilient in extreme weather. In addition, ultra-low degradation, a low-temperature coefficient, and an excellent fire rating (class A+C) have earned the Vertex S+ Series a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year power warranty. Recognized for its excellence in low-carbon practices, the Vertex S+ Series was awarded an LCA certificate and the Carbon Footprint Certificate by TÜV Rheinland last year.
The recognition by IDEA solidifies Trinasolar’s position as a leader in the solar industry, driving innovation and setting benchmarks for new standards for both aesthetic design and functionality of solar products. The Vertex S+ Series merges superior performance, a sleek black design, and ease of use, targeting the premium residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. This series offers an option for individuals pursuing a quality lifestyle to adopt green energy while enjoying a distinctive black aesthetic.
