Trinasolar collaborated with Alba Renova to complete a 1.9 MWp solar rooftop installation for Barcos in Navarra, Spain. This project is the largest of its kind in the region; its size and power showcases the potential and benefits of energy self-consumption for businesses while highlighting the future-thinking mindset of Barcos—a frozen food company founded in 1903.

Operating in the energy-intensive food industry, Barcos was in need of a sustainable and cost-effective solution to address rising electricity costs and to reduce their environmental impact. Given high solar irradiation of the location, they decided on an advanced rooftop PV system completed with modules from Trinasolar.

We supplied 3,520 Vertex dual-glass bifacial modules for the project. These ultra-high performance panels maximise energy production with an impressive efficiency rate of 21.5%. The system is projected to generate 2,345 MWh annually, reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 1,130 tonnes each year.

The installation reduces Barcos’ reliance on fossil fuels while offering the potential to generate revenue from the sale of excess energy. The high efficiency and durability of our Vertex modules in extreme weather ensures long-term performance, all backed by a 30 year power warranty.

We’re proud to have been part of a project that demonstrates the practical advantages of industrial rooftop PV systems for both people and the planet.
