Trina Solar, a global leader in smart PV and energy storage solutions, is presenting its latest renewable energy portfolio at Solar Solutions Amsterdam, held March 19-21, 2024 at the Expo Greater Amsterdam, The Netherlands. At Trina Solar stand D8, solar installers and other professional visitors will be able to experience the recently extended range of Vertex S+ solar PV modules on display, suitable for all kinds of rooftop applications. In addition, the Trina Solar team will inform about the company’s integrated new energy solutions for large-scale projects.
Rooftop portfolio: Extended Vertex S+ range
The innovative design of the Vertex S+ range is a significant improvement in commercial, industrial, and residential rooftop modules. It stands out first and foremost for its dual-glass design, which makes the modules more durable and is backed by a 25-year product warranty and 30-year power warranty. In addition, the use of n type i-TOPCon cells ensures both a higher panel efficiency of up to 22.5%, thus reducing the surface area required on roofs, and higher energy production thanks to better temperature behavior and lower degradation.
Trina Solar will be introducing the Vertex S+ range in two formats, adapted to larger rooftops and for residential applications:
- Vertex S+ 500 W+: The new TSM-NEG18R.28 has the largest power footprint of the Vertex S+ range. This module can reach 505 W while maintaining a length of less than two meters for easy installation. It is the best choice for commercial and industrial installations where increased project profitability is required. This is achieved thanks to a low voltage electrical design that optimizes costs by reducing wiring length and labor.
- Vertex S+: The TSM-NEG9R.28 features the ideal format for small or complex commercial and industrial roofs. With a power output of up to 450 W but a compact design and a weight of only 21kg, it is the preferred choice of many installers for C&I projects thanks to its easy handling and versatility in making the most of the available space on each rooftop.
- Vertex S+ Clear Black: With its black and transparent composition, the TSM-NEG9RC.27 presents a breakthrough in solar design. Its bifacial cells can provide an extra power output from the back side, enabled by the translucent encapsulant, in addition to its front-side power of up to 445 W. Powerful, versatile and suitable for a range of different rooftops and carports, it's the ideal choice for those seeking style and functionality. In addition, its electrical design with triple-cut cells and currents below 11A makes it the best option to ensure compatibility with any inverter or optimizer on the market.
- Vertex S+ Full Black: The TSM-NEG9R.25 is the latest addition to the Vertex S+ range. It combines elegance and strong n type cells for up to 450 W output power. Its uniform black design, extending seamlessly across cells, frames, and modules, ensures effortless integration with rooftops, enhancing the sleek and modern aesthetic of any home.
Gonzalo de la Viña, President Europe at Trina Solar, commented: “Vertex S+ is a compelling, unique, and state-of-the-art proposal, highly adapted to the needs of European rooftops. Its high-end performance, durability and extended lifetime create outstanding value for our customers. Equally important, thanks to the dual-glass technology and extended guaranteed 30-year high performance, Vertex S+ features an industry-leading environmental footprint. This goes to show that we are leading the charge towards a sustainable future with smart PV and energy storage solutions.”
Utility solutions
The bifacial Vertex N dual-glass module series features the ultra-high efficiency TSM-NEG19RC.20 (620W max) and TSM-NEG21C.20 (710W max) models with n-type i-TOPCon cells, improving bifaciality by up to 85%. Superior efficiency of 22.5%, lower degradation and higher power output ensure the lowest possible Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE).
FixOrigin, the fixed-tilt mounting structure by Trina Solar, is the perfect match for the Vertex N module series. It minimizes the impact of rear-side shading on bifacial solar panels. FixOrigin is fully compatible with large-format modules and has been designed for quick installation, high flexibility and compatibility.
Energy Storage
In the field of energy storage, Elementa 2 by Trina Storage is a new generation grid-scale battery storage system built from the ground up using Trina’s vertically integrated LFP cells, packed into a standardized 20ft container. With a total capacity of 4.07MWh, Elementa 2 is integrated with state-of-the-art 306Ah Trina LFP cells featuring high safety, performance, and cyclic lifetime.
”Solar Solutions is always an excellent opportunity to showcase our portfolio of products and solutions for the Benelux market, as well as to meet our customers and industry partners and foster the collaboration that is so important to the energy transition“, said Gonzalo de la Viña. “At the show, our products will also be presented by leading distribution companies with whom we are proud to cooperate, underlining our technological leadership, collaborative approach, and the quality of our products.”
