Trina Solar Co., Ltd. ("Trina Solar" or the "company"), a leading global PV and smart energy total solution provider, will soon showcase its latest module and tracking solutions at this year’s Genera trade fair in Madrid, Spain. At stand 8E08 in hall 8, the Trina Solar team will welcome visitors to introduce them to the company’s brand new n-type Vertex series for rooftops and utility-scale systems, including bifacial solutions, as well as the Vanguard 1P tracker.
Rooftop solar for the next generation: Vertex S+
Trina Solar has invested heavily in its proprietary n-type i-TOPCon cell technology, which forms the backbone of its new module series. For the first time in Europe, the brand new Vertex S+ module for rooftop application will be shown to the public. Vertex S+ is the first of its kind, and more than just an upgrade of the hugely popular Vertex S range. It brings a robust dual-glass structure, combined with n-type cells, to the rooftop market. Vertex S+ features an extended 30-year performance warranty and a 25-year product warranty, as well as an industry-leading low annual degradation. Thus, the product excels in durability, performance and safety. At the same time, it has been designed for maximum system compatibility, while maintaining similar weight and dimensions as its backsheet peers for easy handling and installation. Vertex S+ comes in a high power version with white encapsulant, or as a bifacial variation with transparent encapsulant for premium aesthetics on residential buildings.
Vertex N: Lowest LCOE for large-scale
In early January, Trina Solar announced production kick-off for its vertically integrated n-type factory, with a total n-type production capacity ramp-up plan of 30GW during 2023. This capacity will back up the high market demand for the company’s new Vertex N module series for utility-scale applications. In this market segment, dual-glass bifacial modules are already the dominant technology. Trina Solar’s TSM-NEG19RC.20 Vertex N modules, with a power output of up to 605Wp, are highly compatible with trackers, offering more feasibility to utility-scale projects in the most complex of terrains. On the other hand, the TSM-NEG21C.20 Vertex N product has the biggest power footprint available, reaching 695W and 22.4% efficiency. This enables the highest available string power and lowest LCOE. Vertex N increases bifaciality to 80% and delivers higher efficiency, lower degradation, and better energy yield.
A dream team: Vertex N, Vanguard 1P tracker and SuperTrack
At Genera, the Vertex N module will be showcased and mounted on Trina Solar’s Vanguard 1P single-row tracker. This tracker has been designed as fully adaptable to steeper slopes, withstanding high wind speeds. Vanguard 1P can accommodate up to three strings of modules at a length of up to 110 meters. It is compatible with ultra-high power modules up to 210mm cell size. This combination has been rigorously tested in a wind tunnel which includes static, dynamic and aerodynamic analysis. Vanguard 1P’s proprietary spherical bearing improves terrain adaptability, while its enhanced torque tube enables long spans and high loads.
The Vanguard 1P tracker comes with Trina Solar’s smart SuperTrack software that optimizes the energy yield on overcast days and reduces the losses due to inter-row shading caused by uneven terrains. It also considers bifacial technology and maximizes energy yield by integrating several key parameters to calculate the optimal tracking angle.
Trina Solar Europe will be represented at Genera by the company’s strong Iberian team, as well as colleagues from other countries in the region. Gonzalo de la Viña, President EMEA at Trina Solar, commented: “Spain and Portugal are important markets for us, and we have a large local team in Iberia across all our business units. Spain is home to our tracker business, including development and manufacturing. It comes as natural that Genera is the go-to event for us, and it is the first trade fair of the year where we are showing our brand new n-type portfolio for both rooftops and large-scale business. We are very much looking forward to meeting old and new partners in Madrid.”
Trina Solar has created a strong network of distribution partners across the Iberian peninsula and over the whole region. Several companies representing the local market, and showcasing Trina Solar’s current product portfolio, will also be exhibiting at Genera, including Amara, BayWa r.e., Krannich and TechnoSun.
