Trina Solar at Renpower Uzbekistan 2023: Innovations, Local Projects, and Worldwide Recognition
2023.12.15

Trina Solar, global leader in smart photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage solution provider, proudly participated in the Renpower Uzbekistan 2023 event held in early December in the capital city of Tashkent. This gathering served as a platform for industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to discuss the future of renewable energy in Uzbekistan.

The company emphasized its commitment to advancing solar energy by actively engaging in discussions and presentations at the event. Bakhtiyar Nurmaganbetov, Regional Business Development Manager in Central Asia, delivered a compelling presentation during the event. It was focused on creating a new PV industrial ecosystem, showcasing Trina Solar's dedication to leading in smart solar energy solutions and supporting Uzbekistan's 2020-2030 power plan.

Trina Solar has established a robust presence in Uzbekistan, marked by significant projects. In a milestone agreement this year, TrinaTracker entered into a partnership with Dongfang Electric International Corporation (“DEC International”) to supply 510MW of solar trackers for key solar projects in Uzbekistan. The contract outlines the delivery of Vanguard 1P solar trackers to the Jizzakh and Samarkand solar power plants. These projects, upon integration with the grid, are poised to generate a substantial 1.1 terawatt-hours (TWh) of renewable electricity annually, contributing significantly to the government's initiative to shift towards a green economy. Notably, this undertaking is expected to curtail an average of around 110,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions each year, reinforcing Trina Solar's commitment to sustainable energy solutions in the region.

As a total solutions provider covering modules, trackers, and storage, Trina Solar distinguishes itself by offering comprehensive products that cater to the diverse needs of customers including such major country-level plans like a target of 25 percent of renewable energy (solar, wind, and hydro) generation by 2030, set by the Uzbekistani government.

In modules, the recently announced mass production of Vertex N 700W+ series modules, with efficiency reaching 22.5% marks Trina Solar as the first company to mass produce modules built on the innovative 210mm technology platform with advanced i-TOPCon cell technology, exceeding 700W power output.  Moreover, according to Trina Solar, the industrialization capability of 210mm n-type modules will be comprehensively improved, and Vertex N modules will be continuously upgraded with 10-15W increase in power output in 2024.

In solar tracking, TrinaTracker develops high-tech, intelligent solutions maximizing energy production and reducing costs in PV plants by dynamically adjusting module positions to the Sun's location. The abovementioned Vanguard 1P is an efficient single-row solar tracker designed for optimal performance in PV plants. With compatibility for bifacial and ultra-high power modules (up to 670W), it offers flexibility and efficiency. Key features include support for up to 90 modules, compatibility with cleaning robots, slope tolerance up to 20º N-S, and a streamlined design for simplified installation and maintenance. Vanguard 1P sets a new standard, combining advanced technology with practical features for enhanced efficiency.

For efficient energy storage, Trina Storage, through Elementa, offers a modular and smart solution tailored for grid-scale installations. Fully integrated and prefabricated, Elementa optimizes flexibility, smooth installation, and efficient maintenance, showcasing Trina Solar's commitment to innovative storage solutions.

Trina Solar has gained recognition globally and holds a prestigious position in various rankings. Recently securing a spot on the 2023 Forbes China Top 50 Innovative Companies list, Trina Solar stands out for its commitment to innovation and significant R&D investments. The company's brand reputation is further reinforced by its recent achievements, including the mass production of Vertex N 700W+ series modules, marking the beginning of the PV 7.0 era.

"We are honored to have been participating at Renpower Uzbekistan 2023, and it was a privilege to share our insights in the country where the nation enjoys 330 sunny days annually," commented Dave Wang, Head of Central Asia for Trina Solar Asia Pacific. "Trina Solar remains dedicated to advancing solar technology here in Central Asia and around the world, and we believe in leading the way towards a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future."

Trina Solar continues to lead the way in solar innovation, demonstrating a commitment to better efficiency, greater reliability, and a lower levelized cost of electricity (LCOE). With a focus on creating sustainable solutions, Trina Solar remains dedicated to contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.
