Trina Solar Exhibiting At ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week
2023.08.31

Trina Solar, the leading global PV and smart energy total solution provider, will be exhibiting at ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week.

Trina Solar will be promoting its 210mm Vertex module series which includes small, medium and large-format n-type modules, covering the entire power range of 400W-500W-600W-700W+.

Vertex 210mm modules have solar cells made using non-destructive cutting technology. The module’s surface area is maximized using high-density interconnection, while multi-busbar (MBB) technology allows for more light to be absorbed into the module.

Trina Solar is famous for leading the standardization of module size in the industry to a 2384x1134mm format. This format size, referred to colloquially as ‘golden size’ modules, helps to boost performance dramatically. It also reduces balance of system costs (BOS) and levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) through running longer electrical strings and fully optimised tracker lengths.

Trina Solar is unique in the solar industry in being able to provide fully integrated solutions from a one stop shop and accordingly will be exhibiting its second-generation Vanguard 1P single axis tracker and vertically integrated Trina Storage Elementa (modular, flexible and scalable system for utility applications and microgrids) at the show. Trina is the only battery cell manufacturer with a dedicated focus on the Utility Power Plant segment, and with a vertically integrated 8GWh annual in house cell production capacity it enables our customers to navigate their prolonged execution timescales for their storage projects with more confidence.

Thailand is Southeast Asia’s second-largest solar energy market. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) has stated that installed solar energy capacity, at the end of 2022, was 3.07GW.

Under Thailand's Power Development Plan, the country aims to have 15.6GW of solar energy capacity by 2036. Thailand has also pledged at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow in 2021 that the country would reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065.

Trina Solar is most active in Thailand with utility-scale, as well as commercial and industrial (C&I) solar projects. For instance, the 8MW Siam Tara Floating Solar Project in Prachinburi province, one of the largest floating solar projects in Thailand, used the Vertex modules in 2021. The 810KW Evershining Ingredient Power Station Project located in Samutsongkram selected Vertex 650W modules for the factory rooftop installation in 2022. This represented the first project for such high power modules to be installed in C&I segment in Thailand.
