In Trina Solar's smart energy showroom, Mr Gao Jifan, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Trina Solar, briefed Hu Chunhua on the development of China's photovoltaic industry.

Vice Premier of the State Council and a, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee,  Mr  Hu Chunhua, visited the headquarters of Trina Solar in Changzhou on May 9th. Ding Xiangyang, deputy secretary-general of the State Council, Fu Ziying, deputy director and vice minister of international trade of the Ministry of Commerce, and Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu Province were also present.


Mr Gao said that Trina Solar’s leading innovation capability and the ability to globalize and operate on a global scale are crucial to enhancing the company’s competitive advantages. These two key areas are core to Trina Solar’s business strategies. 

In concurrence with steady domestic operations, the company is also actively deploying manufacturing bases overseas to draw closer to overseas customers. This link between domestic and foreign manufacturing bases helps to promote sustainable development of clean energy globally. 

Trina Solar is also focused on  talent sourcing internationally. The company has introduced high-level management and R&D personnel from more than 30 countries and regions to inject momentum into the innovative development of Trina Solar.

Vice Premier Hu is very concerned about how China's photovoltaic industry is attaining cutting-edge technologies. 

In the showroom, Mr Hu stopped to watch and inquire about Trina Solar's product display zone showcasing its world record breaking cells & models, energy IoT sandbox and big data presentation screen.

In response, Mr Gao said that China's photovoltaic industry has not only reached a world-class level of industrialization technology, but has also caught up with internationally advanced levels of research and development. 

Mr Gao also stated that the future of energy lies in Energy Internet of Things, and whoever is able to acquire it would have a strong competitive advantage. Supported by a solid technical foundation and national policies, Trina Solar is the first to commit to becoming a global leader in energy and to develop smart energy and Energy Internet of Things to establish an integrated solution. This includes- energy creation, storage, distribution, use and cloud energy. The integrated solution of the Internet of Things will promote the transformation of new energy towards digitization and intelligence (as in AI).

Mr Hu also raised an interest about the 40 off-grid photovoltaic power stations established by Trina Solar in Tibet in 2002. He asked about the specific location of the project and the power generation situation, and appreciated the efforts of Trina Solar to improve the lives of the Tibetan people. 

He also reaffirmed Trina Solar’s remarkable achievements in overcoming international trade disputes and other difficulties and challenges to achieve international status in the high-tech PV industry. He encouraged enterprises to continue to adhere to technological innovation and global operations in order to cope with climate change and promote sustainable development.
